Azerbaijan’s Liberal Democratic Party has held its next meeting.

The party said the meeting focused on preparation for the upcoming municipal elections, as well as the results of negotiations with political bodies to set up a bloc entitled "Azad Azerbaijan" (“Independent Azerbaijan").
ALDP Chairman Fuad Aliyev noted that simultaneously with negotiations to set up a bloc the party also worked to participate in the elections independently.
"Our main goal is to be represented in all polling stations and districts,” he said.
ALDP President also said that negotiations with the parties of liberal orientation to launch a bloc did not yield the expected results.
"The parties are not against establishment of a block, but as it was before, each party backed its own interests. There were such questions on which the parties failed to reach consensus. In particular it relates to the nomination of candidates and support for them.
We wanted the parties to expressed solidarity in the municipal elections, but never reached it. As a result, it was decided that each party will independently participate in elections,” Aliyev said.
