Some int'l organizations' assessments of freedom of speech & media in Azerbaijan cause doubts: top state official

The Head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration's Public-Political Department Ali Hasanov expressed his doubts concerning some international organization's statements on freedoms of speech and media in Azerbaijan.
"Azerbaijan always took into account recommendation of the international organizations where it has membership. But, unfortunately, these organizations' assessments mostly base on impartial opinions. Their assessments cause doubts. Although we have let them them know about biased character of these opinions, they continue to make such statements," Hasanov said in his interview with the ruling New Azerbaijan Party's (NAP) official Web site.

Hasanov said Azerbaijan needs freedoms of speech and media.

"This is essence of the way which Azerbaijan has chosen. We also take into account the international organizations' opinions, but follow own way," Hasanov added.
