“I think it is not late yet to change something and visit by the Azerbaijani and Armenian public figures to Khankandi, Yerevan and Baku in a bid to establish a dialogue will give Armenia an opportunity to think once again about what it is losing by waging war with Azerbaijan.”
Azerbaijani member of parliament Aydin Mirzazade told Day.az.

“I think this visit was very important and necessary and will have a positive impact,” he said.

“Azerbaijan and Armenia may conflict, but we have been neighbors for long years. So, we can do nothing about it. Azerbaijan and Armenia should find a path of good neighborly relations. Azerbaijan has taken steps in this direction. I think that if it were not for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the relations of Armenia with Azerbaijan could become an example to other countries,” he said.

“Any trip is positive when it is beneficial. I would call this visit systematic because it helps facilitate the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Yesterday’s meeting was attended both by government members and people of culture. I believe that the appropriate composition may on the one hand to show the goodwill of Azerbaijan in the resolution of the conflict and that Azerbaijan is concerned about its citizens in the occupied territories and wants to resolve the conflict peacefully,” he said.

“I also appreciated Russia’s initiative on this issue. Prominent cultural figures Mikhail Shvidky’s involvement with the delegation shows that Russia is not ignorant of resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” he said.
