“Azerbaijan is interested to participate in the solution of any issue within the same format with the United States and Russia”, said Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov speaking about the possibility of decision on the joint use of Gabala radar at the upcoming Medvedev-Obama meeting, APA reports. Azimov said there were two views on this issue. The idea based on first view is useful and Azerbaijan, Russia and the United States could discuss this idea as a trilateral cooperation. The second one is that the factors, national interests, political restrictions not depending on the proposal only could play decisive role. “I think the second view is the most real one and therefore we don’t expect progress. The interests are formed within the framework of time. Azerbaijan is interested in the solution of any issue within the same format with the United States and Russia. It will raise the Azerbaijan’s influence and at the same time will create basis for the successful activity”.
