Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry not having information about possible bilateral meeting between Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan

05 June 2009 [14:41] - TODAY.AZ
The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan has no information about possible bilateral meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, said spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan Elkhan Polukhov, commenting on the news of Armenian mass media that the Foreign Ministry of Armenia refuted statement about the upcoming meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Italy.

"Probably, this implies an informal meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the OSCE member-states to be held in Greek Korfu city in late June of this year", said Polukhov.

"Yet there is no definite information about possible bilateral meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry", noted he.

Spokesman for the Armenian Foreign Ministry Tigran Balayan announced that "the statement of the Foreign Ministry of Turkey that the next meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan will be held in Italy in the near future, was made on the basis of untrue information".

Earlier Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoghlu said in his interview to Milliyet newspaper that the next meeting will be held after talks in Saint Petersburg on June 25 in Italy.
