Turkish deputy from the Republican People's Party (RPP) Shukur Elekdag believes that nobody should expect that the OSCE Minsk Group's activity will contribute to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

"Last year, the OSCE MG countries - Russia, the United States and France did not support the Resolution on occupied territories of Azerbaijan in the UN Council of Security. Thus, we should expect positive results from OSCE MG's activity," Elekdag said at a press conference in Baku.
Armenian-Turkish ties have been severed since 1993 due to Armenia's claims of an alleged genocide, and the country's occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijani lands.
Turkish President Abdullah Gul visited Yerevan on Sept. 6, 2008 upon the invitation of his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sarkisyan to watch an Armenia-Turkey football match.

Turkey uses all diplomatic means against Armenia itself, he said. "Armenia feels difficulty of closed borders with Turkey. Opening of the Turkish-Armenian borders will not resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, on the contrary, it will create conditions so that this conflict to last," Elekdg said.
Turkish deputy from the Republican People's Party Shahin Mendu said that nonfulfillment of four Resolutions of the UN Council of Security on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is due to lack of fulfillment mechanism.

Azerbaijani and Turkish deputies will stand unanimous position on international issues.
A declaration on joint efforts to remove actions, which may harm the relations between the two brotherhood countries, was adopted at the forum.
