The Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan confirmed the results of the referendum on amendments and alterations to the Constitution of the country by a majority of votes during a session Friday.

According to Interfax-Azerbaijan, CEC secretary Natik Mamedov presented the recent indicators of voting on amendments and alterations to the Constitution to the commission members.
He said of 125 okrugs there have not been a single one where absence of voters could have made the results illegitimate.
After counting the results, Mamedov said all 29 amendments and alterations are considered adopted, as the percentage indicator is higher than the minimum required (50%+1). Results on different parts ranged from 87.1% to 91.76%.
Before putting the final protocol for voting CEC head Mazahir Panakhov stressed the high level of preparedness and conduction of a referendum and positive assessment of international observers.
"Certainly, if this process covers the whole country it will not be held without shortcomings", said Panakhov.
