The book written and signed by the founder of Azerbaijan People’s Republic Mahammad Amin Rasulzadeh was found in the library of Los Angeles University, APA’s US bureau reports.
The book was accidentally found by teacher of Los Angeles University, Azerbaijani historian Altay Goyushov. He saw the book “Azerbaijan Republic” by Rasulzadeh, when he was seeking another book in Young Library of the university. The book was not included into the catalogue of the library, since it had been written in Arabic alphabet. Altay Goyushov said Mahammad Amin Rasulzadeh wrote on the book: “Present for Caucasus Society of Berlin. 1924, Istanbul. Chairman of former National Council Mahammad Amin Rasulzadeh”.
Goyushov said the book “Azerbaijan Republic” gave information about Azerbaijani intellectuals of the period of renaissance. He said Azerbaijan’s official map of 1918-1920, including Zengezur was described in the book, the list of our martyrs was placed at the end of the book.
Altay Goyushov teaches history and religion of Azerbaijan and Turkic peoples at Los Angeles University.
