Azerbaijan, Iran expanding interparliamentary ties

The session of the heads of the parliament of the OIC member-states ended in Tehran, according to AzerTac.
The session involved a delegation led with first deputy chairman of Milli Medjlis of Azerbaijan Ziyafat Askerov. In the framework of the visit the Azerbaijani delegation held a meeting with Medjlis speaker of Iran Ali Larijani.

The Iranian speaker voicing satisfaction with results of the current ties between Azerbaiajn and Iran voiced confidence that our legislative bodies will further take serious steps for expansion of rapidly developing economic and commercial ties between the two countries.

Askerov noted that national leader Heydar Aliyev attached a special importance to the dynamic development of all spheres of Azerbaijani-Iranian relations. "Azerbaijan is interested in continuation of the constant expansion of our country that are bound with historical and cultural ties, as well as the policy of good neighborhood and friendship", noted Askerov.

The meeting participants noted that deepening of interparliamentary ties plays an important role in the development of bilateral relations between our countries and efforts in this direction should be intensified. The groups of friendship of the two parliaments carry out huge works in this direction. Azerbaijani ambassador to Iran Abbasali Hasanov.
