PACE co-rapporteurs to prepare report on Azerbaijan

He noted that the report will cover all aspects of cooperation of Azerbaijan with CE.

Azerbaijan has been the CE member since 2001 ad he undertook the committment to ensure the democratic values in the country. The country is still under the CE monitoring. The control over fulfillment of duties is carried out by the PACE co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan.

The co-rapporteur is planning to visit Azerbaijan in April to familiarize with the situation on fulfillment of duties in the spheres of democracy, provision of freedom of speech and human rights by the country. The next report on Azerbaijan was prepared two years ago.

The new report of the co-rapporteurs will be prepared by autumn of this year and presented for consideration by PACE", noted Herkel.
