Anne Derse: "The United States always attached special importance to relations with Azerbaijan"

"The United States always demonstrated interest in and attached importance to the relations with Azerbaijan", announced Anne Derse.

She noted that Barack Obama's administration supports the policy, chosen by Azerbaijan, based on its national interests as well as ways of development as an independent state.

"I am aware that Obama's administration will remain loyal to this fundamental principle and will support expansion and deepening of cooperation with Azerbaijan", noted the diplomat. She said the cause of such approach of Washington lies in the similarity of interests of the two countries including in the sphere of ensuring energy security.

"We are aware that Azerbaijan, as energy sources producing country and the country, participating in their transit, may play its role and thus contribute to ensuring energy security. Continuation of combat with global terror is another interest, which our countries share", noted Derse.?
