The MPs briefed congressmen in New York on the occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories and the Khojali Genocide.
Armenian troops committed genocide in Khojali on Feb. 26, 1992. The tragedy began early morning.
Within hours, over 600 unarmed Azerbaijani citizens were killed. Among them were 106 women and 83 children. About 1,000 people were disabled by shots; 8 families were fully destroyed. A total of 25 children lost both of their parents and 130 children lost one of them. About 1,275 people were taken prisoner. Around 150 people went missing.
Azerbaijan Society of America President Tomris Azeri described the
importance of removing the 907th Amendment against Azerbaijan.
The congressmen were briefed on Azerbaijanis living in the U.S. and the
Azerbaijan-American Society, which has been operating in the country
for 52 years. Clarke asked about the role of women in social and
political life in Azerbaijan. The congressmen accepted the invitation
of the MPs.
The MPs also informed Senator Kirsten Gillibrand about Azerbaijan. She was also invited to visit the country.

heads of Azerbaijani Jewish Caucasus organizations Yakov Abramov and
Nobert Yevdayev partook in the annual meeting of the Jewish Community
Relations Council (JCRC). Congressmen of Jewish descent were briefed on
the activities of the Jewish community in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani Jew and member of the Azerbaijan-American Society, Eric Yevdayev, reported on the positive attitude towards Jews in Azerbaijan.
