Russia, Azerbaijan to discuss cooperation

Russian Presidential Administration head Sergey Narishkin will visit Azerbaijan on Feb. 26, the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan told Trend News on Feb. 25.
The visit will focus on perspectives for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia.

The Russian delegation will hold negotiations with Azerbaijani officials.

The negotiations will focus on developing cooperation in all fields.

The goods turnover between the two countries hit $1.9 billion in 2008, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee reported. A total of $0.58 billion fell to exports to Russia and $1.34 billion - to imports.

Narishkin will attend the official opening ceremony of the Baku branch of the Moscow State University (MSU) in Baku, the Russian Embassy said.

On Jan. 15, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to open a branch of MSU in Baku.

The branch's curriculum will be based on MSU programs.

Students will be taught by MSU staff. Graduates will receive MSU diplomas.

Each of the branch's three faculties (languages, chemistry and applied mathematics) will enroll 25 people.
