Azerbaijani consul in Los Angeles Elman Abdullayev while visiting Hawaii held a meeting with members of House of representatives of the state.
According to general consul of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles Elin Suleymanov, during the meeting the sides discussed prospects of development of bilateral ties.
In particular, Elman Abdullayev discussed with members of the House of representatives of Hawaii the issues of cooperation in the sphere of tourism and use of alternative ecologically safe energy, attraction of entrepreneurs of both sides to cooperation in making mutual investments.
The consul was invited for participation in the plenary session of the House of Representatives. During the session deputies Rida Cabanilla and Gin Word shared their impressions regarding the international conference on the role of women in development of intercultural dialogue held by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Baku in June of 2008 and noted that Azerbaijan may serve an example of a modern state for other Eastern countries.
The deputies highly evaluated the initiative of the first lady of Azerbaijan, president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva and expressed gratitude for creation of necessary conditions for holding such a dialogue. Member of the House of Representatives of the state noted that organization of such an event proves the growing role of Azerbaijan on the international arena.
