16 February 2009 [15:28] - TODAY.AZ
Under the decision of the political council, the Azerbaijan National Independence Party will not cooperate with any agitation oppositional groups, said spokesman for the party Ali Orujev.
He said in the near future the party will not cooperate with oppositional parties.

"This decision does not prove that we do not recognize cooperation. The party recognizes the bilateral cooperation on important issues, in this case the cooperation was not maintained as there was no sincerity from the opposite side.

Cooperation should not be implied if there are accussations and condemnations.

Moreover, cooperation did not occur as we do not agree with the movement "For Karabakh and Republic" not in all issues. In particular, the party is against the fact that the referendum does not include restoration of the proportional system", noted he.

Orujev added that the party is preparing a program according to which it will join a referendum on introduction of amendments to the Constitution.

Notably, the Central electoral commission has not registered the initiative group of the Milli Istiglal party. The referendum on amendments to the Constitution is planned to be held on March 18.
