Russian expert: "Karabakh conflict will never end"

13 February 2009 [16:02] - TODAY.AZ
"The resolution of the Karabakh conflict by Armenia and Azerbaijan's efforts is possible only if Russia, Turkey and the United States interfere with this process and agree by pursuing their interests here", said general director of the Russian center of political information Alexei Mukhin.

"Practice shows that there are only three variants of development: slowly proceeding movement (by example of Transdniestria), the military resolution (this method was applied by Georgian in South Ossetia) and the Kosovo precedent (the next unilateral declaration of independence with the further recognition by someone).

All these variants have their pluses and minuses, while minuses are far more. Therefore, no matter which script is used in Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the Kosovo variant is more probably, anyway the negative implications of such a resolution will overbalance any positive sides", said the Russian expert,.

He also noted that there is a version that neither Russia, United States, Turkey or Armenia and Azerbaijan are interested in the resolution of this conflict. "This conflict will never end", noted Mukhin, according to Vzglyad newspaper.
