09 January 2009 [16:14] - TODAY.AZ
The attempt of the youth organization of the Musavat party to hold an unsanctioned protest in front of the National Television and Radio Council has been dispersed in Baku, said deputy chairman of the youth organization Ahad Mamedli.
He said the action was to be held by 20 activists as a sign of protest against the decision to stop broadcasting of foreign radio stations Azadlyg, Voice of America and BBC on the national frequencies.

"Yet we were unable to hold our action as the police averted it near the building of Akhundov's library. 5 activists of the youth organization were carried to the 39th police station of the Sabail region. The chairman of the youth organization Tural Abbasly is also among the detained", noted he.

Mamedli also added that while preparing for the action they also developed a special script, which they could not use.
