Congress of Israeli Azerbaijanis condemns constant rocket firing by Hamas

The statement says that some Azerbaijani mass medias have recently published radical anti-Israeli articles due to the anti-terror operation of the Israeli army in Gaza. It should be noted that some people, who call themselves politicians, but do not understand the situation in the Near East, are spreading an anti-Israeli propaganda in Azerbaijan, which does not promote consolidation of the Azerbaijani-Israeli ties.

The Congress of Israeli Azerbaijanis, representing interested of the the diaspora of Azerbaijanis and those who come from Azerbaijan, comprising 60,000 people, states that due to the rude violation of ceasefire by Hamas and constant rocket firing at the Israeli citizens in the south of the country, the military cabinet of Israel was obliged to empower the Defense army of Israel to stop the rocket firing of Israel for a long period of time.

The congress of Israeli Azerbaijanis considers that the terror organization Hamas is responsible for the situation in Gaza. "Hamas has been ruling in Gaza since the illegal coup in this area in 2006. The group militants use Gaza as a ground for rocket firing at Israeli cities and their actions mostly caused unbearable conditions for Palestinians' living in Gaza and led to humanitarian disaster. The population of Gaza finds it difficult to live normally by Hamas' fault", considers the congress of Israeli Azerbaijanis.

"It is no secret that Iran is supporting, financing, equipping and training Hamas. Official Tehran aims to terminate Israel and views Hamas as a tool for reaching this goal", says the Congress of Israeli Azerbaijanis.

According to the Congress of Azerbaijanis, which is a diaspora organization of Azerbaijanis in Israel, "at the time, when 60,000-people diaspora of Azerbaijanis and those coming from Azerbaijan have a right to develop their language and culture, celebrate state and national holidays of Azerbaijan on a good level, Azerbaijanis, residing in Iran are being abused and humiliated by the Iranian regime, 35,000,000 Azerbaijanis have no right to develop their language, culture and get education in their native language.

The life of Azerbaijanis and those coming from Azerbaijan in the cities and settlements, adjacent to Gaza, has been completely unbearable for over seven years. "No state can accept this situation. The aim of the anti-terrorist operation in Gaza is the attempt to improve the state of citizens in the south of the country", says the Congress.

Azerbaijanis and those coming from Azerbaijan, suffer from the constant rocket attacks in Ashkelon, Ashdod, Ofakim and Beer-Shev. "But today we have no other choice than a military operation. Israel must protect its citizens and give a stiff response and terminate the Hamas terror infrastructure in Gaza", concludes the Congress of Israeli Azerbaijanis.
