Progressive-Socialistic party of Azerbaijan supports idea of conduction of referendum on amendments to Constitution

As is reported, a statement was adopted by proposal of chairman of the party Rustam Shahsuvarov. It fixed the positive attitude of the party to the proposals about conduction of the national voting (referendum) for introduction of amendments to the article of the Constitution of Azerbaijan, limiting the right of a person to be elected as a post of the president of Azerbaijan for two presidential terms.

The temporary central executive committee of the party noted that any important decision for the country and people can be applied by way of referendum.

"This is a practice, fully complying with the general norms of democracy. Here, the main criteria is the execution of people's intention and will by way of democratic referendum", says the statement.

It should be noted that the party is chaired by Rustam Shahsuvarov.
