US assistant secretary of state: "I think President of Azerbaijan intends to settle the issue of imprisoned journalists without giving promises"

At the meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev I called on him to assist to the release of imprisoned reporters or include them into the act on pardoning, said assistant US secretary of state on issues of democracy, human rights and labor David Kramer.

"I can not speak for the head of the Azerbaijani state. But it seems to me that the President of Azerbaijan intends to positively settle the issue of imprisoned reporters without giving promises", said Kramer.
