28 October 2008 [10:19] - TODAY.AZ
The presidents of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Poland and Baltic states will attend an international forum on the 75th anniversary of Holodomor in Ukraine.
The forum will be held in Ukraine on November 22, said Mikhail Skuratovski, chief of department of cultural-humanitarian cooperation of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine at a briefing in the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine.

Skuratovki also noted that the forum is expected to be attended by 20-30 delegations from many countries of the world.

The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine sent the invitation to the Russian side yet got no response so far.

At the briefing the FM representative reminded that on October 23 the European parliament adopted a resolution on Holodomor which recognizes it as "a crime against humanity". "It should be noted that though the word "genocide" is not mentioned there, the features of genocide have been specified. The resolution of the European parliament proves that the truth about Holodomor was learned by the European community", said Mikhail Skuratovski.

He noted that Ukraine has no claims to any country in the context of 1932-1933 Holodomor. "We want the world to learn about this tragedy". He reminded that 15 countries of the world recognized Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932-1933 as an act of genocide, while other countries condemned it as a crime.
