Azerbaijan National Independence Party files a claim to the European Court of Human Rights due to imprisonment of its activist

The National Independence Party of Azerbaijan has filed a claim to the European court of Human Rights due to the imprisonment of its activist Musa Rahimov for five years, reports Day.Az with reference to the press service for the party.
According to the sources from the party, on August 23 of 2007 Musa Rahimov was arrested in Imishli region and charged under articles 221.2.2 (hooliganism against state officials) and 315 (rude violation of public order) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

Beginning from 2007 the party continued court proceedings against illegal actions applied regarding activist of the party, yet no court granted the appeal of the party. Therefore, it was decided to file a claim to the European Court of Human Rights.
