Arrested businessman Hajibay Zakatalski accused in appeals against the state

Businessman Hajibay Ibrahimov (Zakatalski) arrested in Zagatala Region of Azerbaijan and his two partners are charged on article 281 (public appeals directed against the state) of the Criminal Code, local law-enforcement bodies told APA.

Zakatalski was sent to the isolator of the Ministry of National Security for interrogation. Investigative measures continue.

Zakatalski was arrested as a result of joint operation conducted by the Ministry of National Security and Zagatala Region Police Office on October 13. Several days later his driver Nabi Sulkhayev and employee of "Lazzat" recreation center owned by Zakatalski Haji Katlayev were arrested. All three persons are accused in spreading in the villages, where ethnic minorities live, the subversive books and leaflets containing  public appeals against the state and inclinations for establishing the autonomous republic in the region.

A lot of documents against the statehood and hand grenades were found at Zakatalski’s house during the search there. The operational group confiscated computers in his office. Tens of local residents were involved in the interrogation.

Ibrahimov known as Zakatalski in Zagatala is well-known businessman. He is an owner of "Lazzat" recreation center and "Magara" tobacco farm.
