Editor-in-chief of one of Azerbaijani newspapers sets a new party

The due announcement was made personally by Aydin Guliyev, editor-in-chief and head of the initiative group of the created party, according to Novosti-Azerbaijan.

Officially the party will be declared following presidential elections. The founding session will be held by the end of the year", said Quliyev.

He noted that the first session of the initiative group was held and currently the initiative group includes 11 people.

"At the first session of the initiative group we have defined the political and tactical courses of the created party and discussed its name. Three variants of the name of the party are being considered", noted the editor-in-chief.

The head of the initiative group noted that three directions of the political course and tactics of the party have also been defined.

"The first direction is an attitude towards the government, second towards elections and third towards the traditional radical opposition".

Guliyev noted that the new party will be constructively critical towards the government.

"We want to treat the government from the constructively critical position. The new party will participate in all the elections, including municipal, parliamentary and presidential elections and we will not choose the boycott tactics", continued the editor-in-chief.

He noted that the party will not be represented in any bloc with traditional opposition.

"We will sign bilateral and multilateral agreements. Cooperation with traditional opposition in the framework of the national and state interests is possible", noted he.

The head of the initiative group noted that the new party will cooperate only with the parties, coming out from the constructive position and will sign bilateral and multilateral agreements on cooperation with these parties.

Aydin Guliyev has been the member of the ruling party Yeni Azerbaijan from 1992 until 1998. In 1998 he resigned and transferred to the opposition Democratic Party of Azerbaijan, where he was the ideological secretary of the organization. In 2997 he quited the party. He is the editor-in-chief of the Baki kheber newspaper.
