Protest near Russian embassy to Baku put off

24 September 2008 [12:11] - TODAY.AZ
The Adalyat party has put off the protest in front of the Russian embassy to Azerbaijan, which it planned to hold Wednesday, said deputy chairman of the party Mutallim Rahimov.
He said the Baku mayor's office did not sanction the action.

"As our action was not sanctioned we decided to put it off. The political board of the party will soon hold a session at which we will define the new date of the protect. After it we will appeal to the mayor's office. We will hold the action in favor of our deputy chairman by all means", noted he.

It should be noted that the action was to be held in support of the son of the party chairman MP Ilyas Ismaylov, arrested in Russia. The Adalyat party is protesting against holding the court hearing in Chelyabinsk and demands to hold the trial in other province of Russia or in Moscow, where Ilyas Ismaylov's son Etimad Ismaylov lives.
