Romanian ambassador to Azerbaijan: "Nagorno Karabakh conflict should be settled in the framework of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan"

Romanian ambassador to Azerbaijan Nikolai Ureke started his two day visit to Tovuz region by invitation of MP Ganira Pashayeva.
According to Day.Az, the ambassador visited frontier villages Aghdam and Alibeyli of the Tovuz region.

At the meeting with Aghdam village residents, the ambassador visited the village cemetery, as well as the historical and cultural monuments, locating near the Azerbaijani-Armenian border, which were burnt by Armenia. He was informed that Armenian side commits arsons mainly in spring and summer.

The village residents and MP Ganira Pashayeva informed the Romanian ambassador that due to the sniper fire by Armenians, they are not able to visit the graves of their relatives for long years. It was noted that several village residents were killed and wounded by Armenians.

Moreover, it was also noted that Aghdam village residents are unable to work on the fields and in the gardens due to sniper fire. The ambassador was shown houses, riddled with Armenian bullets.

The Romanian ambassador, who visited Alibeyli village was demonstrated the building of a secondary school, which is also subjected to gunfire by Armenians at times. He was informed that Armenian side periodically violates ceasefire, which primarily influences the living conditions of civilians.

While talking to journalists, the Romanian ambassador announced that his country speaks for the soonest resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and world society should take definite steps in this direction.

"Romania supports territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan and speaks for the conflict resolution in these frames", said Ureke.

He met with the executive powers of Tovuz, where he was informed about the economic and tourism potential of the region.

In turn, Ureke noted that the Prime Minister of Romania will visit Azerbaijan in September and the delegation, to accompany him, will include many business sector representatives. He said the Azerbaijani-Romanian business forum will be held. According to the ambassador, Romania is ready to share its experience in the sphere of vice growing and wine making and Tovuz has good potential in this sense.

MP Ganira Pashayev told reporters that the aim of the visit was to familiarize the Romanian ambassador with one of the regions of Azerbaijan, inform him about the actions of the Armenian side, which fires at the houses, fields and gardens of the Azerbaijani civilians.
