Azerbaijan's FM receives new head of CE Baku office

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov received chief on cooperation and political consultations of the CE general directorate on political issues Claudia Lichiana and new head of CE Baku office Veronika Kotek, reports the press service for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

Stressing development of relations between Azerbaijan and CE, the Foreign Minister noted that our country seriously treats all commitments, it undertook before the organization.

The Minister noted that though Azerbaijan is in a state of war with Armenia, this did not affect conduction of democratic processes and Azerbaijan takes steps for resolution of problems by cooperating with the Council of Europe in this sphere.

The CE representatives assessing Azerbaijan's activity in this sphere, noted that the structure is interested in the further deepening of cooperation.

The meeting also focused on preparations for presidential elections, strengthening of democratic values in the country.
