Conference "Business potential of the new Silk Road" was held in Chicago (US).

Azerbaijan's consul general in Los Angeles Elin Suleymanov told Day.Az that the conference was organized by the Center for Central Asia in Illinois, club of Pakistani graduates of the Chicago university, as well as trade representations of Turkey and Pakistan in Chicago.
The discussion involved chairman of the Center for Central Asia and honored doctor of the Nakhchivan State University Harry Lepinski, general consuls of Turkey and Pakistan in Chicago Kenan Ipek and Aman Rashid, consul general of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles Elin Suleymanov, as well as representatives of India and Kazakhstan.
Suleymanov noted in his speech that implementation of a long-term strategy, initiated by Heydar Aliyev, strengthened the key connecting role of Azerbaijan in the Silk Road infrastructure.
It was especially noted that the Azerbaijani side bases in its policy on interests of the whole region and tends to mutually profitable relations with all countries.
In turn, Turkey's consul general Kenan Ipek, speaking of successful cooperation between Turkey and the regional countries, reminded with regret that non-constructive position of Yerevan continues to deepen Armenia's self-isolation. Speaking of the readiness of Azerbaijan and Turkey for a dialogue with Armenia, Ipek urged to withdraw Armenian armed forces from the occupied lands of Azerbaijan.
Concluding the conference, trade attache of Pakistan in Chicago Asad Khayauddin once more touched upon the strategic potential of the Caspian region and called Azerbaijan as one of the most investment-attractive countries of the Silk Road. It should be noted that Khayauddin is a graduate of Fletcher's high school of diplomacy and law, where he defended dissertation on the Caspian region.
