Ali Alizade: "It was senseless to introduce amendments to the law "On freedom of assembly"

02 June 2008 [13:28] - TODAY.AZ
"Amendments, introduced to the law "On Freedom of Assembly at the recent session of the parliament of Azerbaijan, are senseless", said chairman of the Azerbaijan Social-Democratic Party Araz Alizade.
He said it was completely senseless to introduce amendments to the law "On freedom of assembly".

"The new law has nothing dangerous for opposition. Frankly speaking, I can not understand the authorities! Let opposition activists hold rallies even in the center-they will not gather too many people with our politically indifferent society.

On the other side, it is clear that for opposition Bibi Eybat settlement is an inappropriate place. In London, for example, opposition can express its positions in the Hyde Park", said Alizade.
