Mubariz Qurbanly: "The report of the US Department of State on human rights should not be regarded as pressure on Azerbaijan"

30 May 2008 [11:14] - TODAY.AZ
"The report of the US Department of State on human rights should not be regarded as pressure on Azerbaijan", said deputy executive secretary of Yeni Azerbaijan party Mubariz Qurbanly.
He noted that most countries, including Azerbaijan, were criticized in the report of the US Department of State.

"The part, related to our country, states the alleged death of four people in the result of torture.

Moreover, this is unfair that the report includes the undisclosed murder of Elmar Huseynov. There are numerous undisclosed murders in the world and they can not be included into the report.

The report also contains data of 2006 about failure to register some religious communities", said he.

At the same time, Qurbanly noted that the report of the US Department of State does not bind the countries to execute their directives.

"Most countries make similar reports, for example, the United States are the first on the Chinese report on human rights for violation of these rights", concluded the deputy.
