Fazil Qazanfaroghlu: "Leaders of Azerbaijani opposition do not hold talks on nomination of a single candidate"

He said the session of Supreme Mejlis was to be held on May 24, yet as the parliament of Azerbaijan has not discussed amendments and alterations to the Electoral Code, the session was put off for an indefinite term.

"During the session we planned to consider several issues, in particular, discuss the nomination of a candidate from the party.

After the issue about party's participation in the elections is settled, we plan to start creation of an election campaign team and define how much we will need to take part in the elections", said he.

Asked whether nomination of a single candidate from opposition is possible, he said the following:

"Leaders of the Azerbaijani opposition do not hold talks on the nomination of a single candidate.

Our party's cooperation with the Center of Democratic Elections is caused by the intention to create normal conditions for conduction of elections, yet each party will take part in it with its own candidate", he noted.
