Ali Huseynov: "Azerbaijan pays special attention to commitments undertaken before the Council of Europe"

The government of Azerbaijan has executed most of commitments, undertaken before the Council of Europe.
The due announcement was made by Ali Huseynov, deputy chairman of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE and Milli Medjlis deputy.

"Official Baku highly appreciates cooperation with the Council of Europe and pays special attention to commitments undertaken before the organization", said Huseynov Monday at the meeting with the co-rapporteurs of the PACE monitoring committee Eugenia Zhivkova and Andres Herkel.

According to Novosti-Azerbaijan, the due information was provided by the press service for the Azerbaijani parliament.

"The permanent parliamentary commission discussed amendments and alterations to the Electoral Code of Azerbaijan and the law on freedom of assembly. During the preparations, the gaps within these laws have been filled and proposals of the CE Venice Commission and OSCE Bureau on Democratic Institutions and Human Rights taken into account.

Both laws have been introduced for consideration of the plenary session of the parliament", noted the deputy chief of the delegation, adding that the works on the draft law "On alternative service" are also nearing completion.

He said the visit of co-rapporteurs to Azerbaijan before the summer session of the CE Parliamentary Assembly is important.
