Armenian constitutional court declines files demanding to recognize results of presidential elections as invalid

The constitutional court of Armenia declined files of opposition candidates to president Levon Ter-Petrosyan and Tigran Karapetyan about recognition of results of presidential elections as invalid.

The Constitutional Court of Armenia upheld the decision of the Central Election Commission on the results of presidential elections.

It should be reminded that the Central Election Committee of Azerbaijan declared the current Prime Minister of Armenia Serzh Sarkissyan the winner of elections.

By decision of the higher court instance of Armenia, all materuals, about the election violations, presented to the Constitutional Court, should be transferred to the General Prosecutor's Office of Armenia.

The Constitutional Court has previously united the files claimed by Levon Ter-Petrosyan and Tigran Karapetyan about recognition of presidential elections as invalid. It initiated consideration of the files on March 4.
