It is early to speak about Serj Sarkisyan's victory. Though he has financial and administrative advantages compared to his opponents, and few doubted that Sarkisyan will lead in the elections, However, analysts stated that issue will not be possible settled in Sarkisyan's favor without mass falsification in the primary.
The due announcement was made by famous political scientist Rasim Musabekov, commenting on presidential elections in Armenia.
He said rude violations are reported by candidates to President Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Artur Bagdasaryan and others.
"Now everything depends on the ruling regime. Last time Robert Kocharyan gained about 49% votes, which allowed powers to hold the second tour and legalize Kocharyan's victory. Today powers are a little scared as the second tour will be held with Levon Ter-Petrosyan's participation. He may get support of Artur Bagdasaryan and other candidates. Most will depend on the reaction of the international community, as well as Ter-Petrosyan's ability to bring his supporters together for mass protests against falsifications".
Musabekov said it is not known how Serj Sarkisyan gained the votes and though he gained almost 53% of votes, the second tour can be held.
"Voting results can be protested at definite election points, which may reduce votes for Serj Sarkisyan", he said.
He noted that possible orange revolution may depend on the scales of falsifications and behavior of opposition.
"If opposition manages to lead people to the streets of Yerevan and demonstrate non-acceptance of voting results by the population and if powers cross the limit, everything is possible. But I consider that neither West nor Russia are interested in changing the political regime. In case of mass falsifications, the Armenian powers will maximally be made to arrange the second tour", he concluded.
