Azerbaijan's ruling party executive secretary meets Swiss ambassador to Azerbaijan

The due information has been provided by the press service for the Yeni Azerbaijan Party, Novosti-Azerbaijan reports.  According to the press service, Ali Akhmedov, deputy chairman and executive secretary of the Yeni Azerbaijan Party, received Swiss Ambassador to Azerbaijan Allan Guidetti in the headquarters of the party on Thursday.

The sides exchanged views on bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Switzerland. The diplomat noted that cooperation between the two countries is developing successfully in all spheres especially on the interparliamentary level.

In turn, Akhmedov informed the diplomat about the election situation in Azerbaijan, noting that presidential elections in the country will correspond to European standards.

"The government of Azerbaijan is interested in fair, transparent, free and democratic elections by the European principles", Akhmedov noted.

Ali Akhmedov also added that the country which has chosen the democratic way, cooperates successfully with the European countries in the political and economic spheres.

"Today, Azerbaijan plans a special role in boosting energy security of Europe", Akhmedov noted.
