04 February 2008 [10:37] - TODAY.AZ
Azadlyg newspaper reporter Mirza Sakit, kept in correctional ward No 14 will not be transfered to a medical center.

The due information was provided by chief of the prison Ershad Guseynov, APA reports. He referred to medical examination according to which the convicted reporter does not need treatment in a medical center and treatment in prison is possible.

In turn, M.Sakit's wife Rena Zahidova reported that the administration of the prison had not kept its promise to the reporter and his family: "We have been promised that Sakit will be transferred to the medical center, yet the promise is not kept.

The chief told me that by the end of the week M.Sakit will be transferred to the hospital. He is aware that M.Sakit feels too bad and his treatment in prison is impossible. Why don't they permit his transfer?".

R.Zahidova reminded that M.Sakit may initiate hunger-strike again if he is not transferred to the medical center and expressed confidence that her husband will do it.

"Perhaps, he has already gone on hunger-strike", Zahidova proposed.

Notably, E.Gasanov announced that M.Sakit has not gone on hunger-strike yet.

It should be reminded that on January 26 M.Sakit went on hunger-strike with a demand to transfer him to a medical center. He stopped the hunger-strike after he was promised to be transferred to the medical center.
