The law "On political parties" has not been included into the calendar plan of the spring session of the Azerbaijani Parliament.

MP Fazail Agamaly, representative of the permanent commission for jural policy and state establishment, chairman of the Ana Veten party told Day.Az that the calendar plan of the spring session does not envision its consideration.

"We have already prepared a plan of discussed draft laws for the Milli Medjlis spring session and we do not plan to consider this draft law. It is not ruled that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will recommend to elaborate it and create a new version.

There has been a number of cases, when the laws were adopted in such versions. Moreover, the said draft laws was adopted in 1992. therefore, it is necessary to improve it in line with international standards. We will do our best for discussion and adoption of this law in 2008", he announced.

It should be noted that in line with the new version of the law "On political parties" it is proposed that it will reflect the financing of parties by the state  and general regulations on transparency of sources of income.

The state financing must take into account the number of votes in the Parliament.
