Meeting on delimitation of Russia-Azerbaijan borders to be held late January

The commission on delimitation of Russia-Azerbaijan borders will hold its next meeting in Moscow on January 29.

Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Yakovenko who will represent Russia in the Commission told APA the intensification of the meetings of the Commission shows that the sides are decisive in completing process of negotiations soon.

Moreover, Russian diplomat refrained from forecasting.

“Time can not be defined in the issues like delimitation. Any proposal given by the two sides should be reviewed and this issue is quite complicated. The meetings held often show that the process has been accelerated. But it is difficult to say that any concrete agreement will be achieved tomorrow. Naturally, everything depends on the will of the sides,” he said.

Yakovenko also said that a delegation led by Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov has already arrived in Moscow.

The meeting will be held on January 29-30.

The last meeting of the commission was held on December 18-19, 2007.

The sides has coordinated over 90% of the borders by now.
