Information about imprisoned reporter Mirza Sakit's going on hunger strike confirmed

The penitentiary service under the Justice Ministry of Azerbaijan confirmed that the imprisoned reporter of the Azadlyg newspaper Mirza Sakit had gone on hunger strike.

The due information has been provided by sources from the Public Relations Department of the Penitentiary Service under Azerbaijan's Ministry of Justice.

Thus, the reporter went on hunger strike on January 26.

It should be noted that he demands his transfer to the inner prison, resignation of the chairman of the Council for Press Aflatun Amashov and a meeting with the Ombudsman.

He also demands from Nazim Alekperov, chief of the penitentiary service of the Ministry of Justice, to respond to his appeals regarding the transmission to another correctional ward.
