Press Council chairman to appeal to President for release of journalists

Amashov said that the list of journalists that will be sent to the President has not been specified yet.

The imprisoned journalists are expected to be released on July 22 – National Press Day. Seven journalists are expected to be released by the President’s decree.

Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) President Ren? van der Linden recently visited Azerbaijan said he debated on the release of seven journalists while meeting with Azerbaijani officials.
