Turkish Armed Forces will continue to assist Azerbaijani Armed Forces in conforming to NATO standards

"We will negotiate with Azerbaijani military circles on future prospects of cooperation between Turkish and Azerbaijani Armed Forces," head of Turkish Armed Forces Staff delegation, General Colonel Eyyub Kaptan told journalists in Baku.

He said he first visited Azerbaijan in 1991.

"I first arrived in Azerbaijan in 1991. Azerbaijani Armed Forces have achieved much progress recently," he said.

Eyyub Kaptan said that Turkey assists Azerbaijani Armed Forces in different programs. The General underlined that Turkey will continue to assist Azerbaijani Armed Forces in conforming to NATO standards.

The mission composed of high-ranking officers of Turkish Armed Forces Staff arrived in Baku May 22.

The delegation is the first large mission of high-ranking officers from Turkey to arrive in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
