Azerbaijani Defense Ministry presents first annual report

Azerbaijani Defense Ministry for the first time presented annual report on the measures carried out in Azerbaijani Armed Forces.

Readiness of officers, ensigns and warrant officers in Military Academy, military medical faculty of Azerbaijan Medical University, as well as Turkish military educational institutions has been improved. Training for reserved officers as well as for servicemen were held in Training Center of the Armed Forces. Personnel structure of military units has been conformed to NATO standards as a continuation of Azerbaijani commitments in the framework of military cooperation with NATO. Other military organizations of Armed Forces are being reorganized according to new personnel. The report also notes that international military relations were expanded last year.

"There are military relations with 46 states now. Practical relations have been established with 26 countries and bilateral agreements on military cooperation were signed with 20 states. 851 servicemen and representatives of foreign states and international organizations visited Azerbaijan last year. Azerbaijan's military attaches and representatives have been accredited in 11 states, Azerbaijan has military representation in NATO headquarters, SHAPE and Supreme Transformation Command, as well as coordinating officers in other headquarters 479 language courses and training, meetings, seminars, conferences, headquarters negotiations and other events were carried in the framework of NATO Program Partnership for Peace and according to bilateral cooperation plans. 1,933 representatives of Azerbaijani Armed Forces participated in the events," the report says.

The report says that the number of commitments undertaken by Azerbaijan in the framework of Planning and Review Process (PARP) reached 44. The main efforts on supplying the troops' logistics were directed to providing the military units with all kinds of equipment according to the norms, health care of the personnel. Special equipment has been installed in military aerodromes to ensure the security of flights. APA
