Latvian Foreign Minister Artis Pabriks visited Azerbaijani region of Ganja.

The Minister first visited Nizami Ganjavi's monument and met with head of Ganja executive power Eldar Azizov. Following this, the minister gave a briefing.

"This is my and my wife's first visit to Azerbaijan. We had productive negotiations with President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister Artur Rasizade and Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov. We are aware of the state program on socio-economic development of the regions. The aim of our visit to Ganja is to get closely acquainted with Azerbaijan and its people. There is an international airport in Ganja which meets modern standards. It can play an important role in the expansion of economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia. Azerbaijan and Latvia enjoy very good political and economic relations. These relations can be expanded," he said.
