Condoleezza Rice: "Russia should understand that post Soviet countries are no more members of USSR"

"We want Russia to have relations with the post Soviet countries. These countries are no more members of the former Soviet Union and the relations should be established basing on the development of political and economic ties," commenting on Russia's supporting separatist regimes in post Soviet countries US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice stated.

The secretary of State said that Russia can have some influence on neighboring countries, APA reports.

"But this influence should be in the frame of respecting these countries' independence," she said.

Underlining that the countries gained their independence recently have the right to pursue independent foreign policy, Rice said they will establish strong relations with these countries.
