Nino Burjanadze: "GUAM would gain importance by Kazakhstan's joining"

"Georgia would only welcome Kazakhstan's joining GUAM," speaker of Georgian parliament Nino Burjanadze told.

She underlined that she is unaware of Kazakhstan's holding negotiations over joining GUAM.

"I have no information about any negotiations over this issue. Of course, GUAM would gain importance by Kazakhstan’s joining the organization," the speaker said.

Nino Burjanadze today received Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Kerim Mesimov. They discussed economic partnership between the two countries, as well as cooperation in transportation of energy resources.

Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaydeli will also receive Kerim Mesimov today, APA reports.
