Appeal filed against decision on Akif Muradverdiyev

The appeal asks to drop the criminal case on Akif Muradverdiyev, Rashad Mehdizadeh, the lawyer for Akif Muradverdiyev told the APA.

Appeals Court upheld the decision of the Court of Grave Crimes on Akif Muraverdiyev.

Akif Muradverdiyev was sentenced to 6 years in jail with charges under Article 179.3.2 (embezzlement), 308.2 (abuse of power), 311 (bribing), 313 (fraud) of the Criminal Code. The investigation into the case on charges under Article 28.278 (staging coup) and 28.220 (coup attempt) of the Criminal Code continues.

Akif Muradverdiyev is being cured in the medical center of Penitentiary Service.
