Ex-minister Ali Insanov warned for the last time

Trial on case of former health minister Ali Insanov and ten more defendants accused of embezzlement, abuse of power and bribery continued at Azerbaijan's Court of Grave Crimes.

The sitting is presided over by Judge Faig Gasimov, APA reports.

The ex-minister petitioned for Health Minister Ogtay Shireliev and Eldar Ahmadov, chief of the Grave Crimes Investigation Department of Prosecutor's Office to give testimonies. He said that a lot of establishments subordinated to the Health Ministry were privatized and stressed the importance of Ogtay Shireliyev’s giving testimony.

Commenting on Ali Insanov's statement about misappropriation of state budget and corruption cases, judge interrupted him and said he turns the trial into a show.

Public prosecutor Chingiz Shukurov asked to continue the trial without Ali Insanov's participation taking into account his making political statements.

The judge warned Ali Insanov for the last time and said that he will be removed from the court room if he makes statements beyond accusations.

Health Ministry former department chief Akif Maharramov's relatives gave testimonies concerning the money confiscated from his house.

ollowing this, Elnur and Anar Agayevs testimonies were announced. The witnesses said that they gave $3,600 as bribe to get license for two drug stores.
