Russia can cooperate with GUAM, if needed

02 February 2007 [15:55] - TODAY.AZ
"I do not want to say that the relations among CIS member states are going down to history. These relations exist and will exist. Though order in the field of labor migration is established, there will always be a need for labor migrants," Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vasili Istratov told journalists.

He said that Russia's relation with GUAM members are on the level of bilateral relations, not on the level of Russia-GUAM.

"We can cooperate with GUAM, if needed," he said.

The ambassador stressed that economic relations between Azerbaijan and Russia do not reflect the real potential. He also noted that Azerbaijan is a perspective country for investment, as well as for Russian investment, APA reports.
