Johns Hopkins University official appeals for Ali Insanov's release

Chairman of Department of Ophthalmology at the Johns Hopkins University Walter Stark appealed to the President for Ali Insanov's release from custody.

He asked the President to release the ex-minister, held in custody in the detention ward of National Security Ministry, taking into account his health problems and good offices, ex-minister's lawyer Togrul Babayev told the APA.

The minister was accused and arrested for trying to seize the power by force, create massive unrest and misappropriate of state property on October 20, 2005.
