Mammadyarov meets Georgian FM

Georgia Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili had a short-termed visit to Azerbaijan.

Georgian FM Bezhuashvili had meeting with Elmar Mammadyarov and this evening will go to Moscow to participate in the meeting of Council of Foreign Ministers of BSECO. At the briefing held after the meeting, Elmar Mammadyarov said that they discussed the bilateral relations of the countries. The regional projects in economic fields were considered in the meeting where the strategical partnership on political field was stressed.

The ministers stated their positions on 'frozen conflict' in GUAM states to be discussed in UNO General Assembly session on December 4 and said that the settlement of the conflict is coming up.

Besides, the relationship between Azerbaijan and Georgia in humanitarian field was discussed during the meeting. They ministers agreed to hold joint meeting of State Committee on delimitation and demarcation of borders in Baku next month.

Answering to the questions of journalists Gela Bezhuashvili said that they did not discuss the problem of gas transportation to Georgia. "But this issue was discussed in the level of Energy ministers. Georgia intends to transfer Iranian gas crossing Azerbaijani territory," he said.

Bezhuashvili said that Azerbaijan plays role in the normalization of Georgia- Russia relations and at present they do not need mediation of any country. "We will normalize the relationship by ourselves. Azerbaijan is a mediator in the process, when there is a problem between two neighbour countries, the other one should not be indifferent," Bezhuashvili said.

The minister said that he will meet with Russia Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow tomorrow, Russia and Georgia presidents will meet in late November in the frame of CIS summit talks in Minsk.

Mammadyarov valued solution variant of Garabagh conflict on Kosovo model. "Every conflict has its history and characteristics. The conflicts can not be solved on the same formula," Mammadyarov said, APA reports.
